HISTORY

In 1903, Grossman Cap began selling hats from a small corner shop in Boston, Massachusetts. We soon evolved into a major wholesale manufacturer providing winter and summer headwear to retailers across New England. By the late 1960s, in response to customer demand, we developed a glove division to complement our growing winter headwear business. Within several years, we had become a leading national supplier of cold weather headwear and handwear.

In 1970, we expanded our product lines with variety of licensed merchandise focused on well-known movie and cartoon characters. At that time, we also began working with several internationally recognized clothing designers to create specialized product lines for major department stores across the country. Several years later, in the early 1970s, we expanded our license business by developing product lines for all of the major national professional sports leagues. Over the next thirty years, we became a national leader in the sale of professional sports headwear and handwear.

By the 1990s, Grossman Cap had become a major source of private label merchandise for leading retailers across country. We also began development of new high performance product lines, which incorporated state of the art fabrics and technologies geared for ski and other extreme sports retailers. Today, Grossman Cap continues to be a national leader in the manufacture and distribution of premium and popular priced headwear and handwear for all seasons.
